Sony's 12 MP Sensor Can Shoot 42 Frames Per Second

The world of digital photography is an ever changing landscape of amazing new technology, like Sony's newest 12MP sensor.

It's called the IMX078CQK and its capable of doing some pretty amazing things. Chief among them is the ability to take 12 megapixel photos at a whopping 42 frames per second. Sony says that this is thanks to the column-parallel A/D conversion method and 576 Mbps LVDS high-speed output interface. These innovations also allow for Full HD video recording at 60 frames per second.

Sony says that the new sensor is even more efficient when collecting light, and will reproduce color even better than existing technology.
