Sony Will Increase Sensor Production by 50 Percent
The original plan by Sony was to boost production up to a whopping 50,000 sensors a month. That increase has been multiplied to a grand total of 75,000 sensors a month - 900,000 a year. The company is hoping to hit that goal by March 2014 at the latest.
Sony has been ramping up production pretty significantly already this year. They launched a fourth COMS sensor line in their Nagasaki plant on Monday, shortly following the addition of a third in October.
