Sony Releases a Clip-on LCD Monitor for DSLRs

If you've been craving a bigger and better monitor for your DSLR, you're in luck. Sony's CLM-V55 is a five inch 800 x 480 monitor that's designed to attach to both DSLRs and camcorders.

The CLM-V55 is more than just a simple monitor though. It packs features like pixel magnification, which lets you get a better feel for focus by giving you an enlarged view of a certain area of the image. There's also a color peaking function that highlights the edges of accurately focused parts of the image.

You can change between a 4:3 and a 16:9 contrast ratio and make adjustments to brightness, contrast, volume, color tone and color temperature thanks to the monitor's control wheel. There's an on-board mono speaker and a headphone jack too, so you can monitor sound if need be.

There's no price yet available on the CLM-V55, but Sony will be releasing it in March of 2011.
