Sony Quietly Releases the New Alpha 7 Mark II

Sony_A&II_wFE2870_front-800.jpgYesterday, Sony Electronics quietly released information about an all new full-frame Alpha series ILC, the a7 Mark II. Sporting very similar specifications to the a7, including the same 24.3-megapixel full-frame Exmor CMOS image sensor, Fast Hybrid AF system, and 3.0-inch tilting display, the Mark II adds support for Sony's newer XAVC-S video codec, an all new 5-axis in-body image stabilization system (compensates for up 4.5 stops), improved shooting and AF performance over its predecessor, and a few design tweaks. For more product images and/or information on specifications, check out our Sony Alpha 7 Mark II Preview.

So far this model has only officially been released in Japan, with availability starting on December 5th. As of today, no US pricing or availability have been announced.
