Sony Expands SD Card Selection

Instead of only offering you two choices - entry level and midrange - when shopping for memory cards, Sony has upped the ante and is now offering three.

You'll already be familiar with the Essential series, designed for the entry level photographer without any specific needs. The Experience series, formerly the high point of Sony's memory card line, boasts transfer speeds up to 15MB/s and is made for both stills and HD video shot by dSLRs.

The new addition to the line is the Expert series, made for applications like 3D video and burst shooting. Sony says you'll get speeds up to 20MB/s - not too shabby. The Expert series Class 10 SD cards will be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB sizes.
