Sony's New RX100 VI Rocks 4K/30p & 940fps HFR video, 315-point AF, and 24-200mm F2.8-4.5 Zoom!

The Sony RX100 VI takes everything you want in a compact camera -- great lens, fast and accurate focusing, burst shooting up to 24fps and UHD 4K video -- and stuffs it into a pocket-sized body. Sony calls it a premium compact camera and they're not wrong. It's expensive -- $1,198 bucks -- but so slim, portable, and powerful it's gonna be worth every penny.

In a quote from Sony and B&H:

"The Sony RX100 VI sports a 24-200mm-equivalent ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T lens covering wide-angle to telephoto focal lengths for greater shooting flexibility. Leveraging the most from the updated lens design is the 20.1MP 1" Exmor RS CMOS sensor, along with an improved BIONZ X image processor, for fast shooting performance to 24 fps, high sensitivity to ISO 12800, and UHD 4K video recording. The sensor's design also provides a 315-point hybrid AF system for quick and accurate focus performance and subject tracking in both stills and video modes."

315-point autofocus! Are you kidding me? It also has Sony's vaunted Eye AF when shooting in AF-C mode. This camera is getting features from Sony's high-end mirrorless cameras that make it stand out from the crowd. One thing the RX100 lineup sorely needed was a touch screen and the RX100 VI finally delivers on that front with a 3" adjustable touch-screen LCD on the back or you can use the 2.36m-dot pop-up OLED electronic viewfinder making it feel like a real camera. It also has Bluetooth and Wi-fi to keep you connected and ease the stress of uploading images to social media.

The new RX100 VI is almost exactly as slim as the last model even while gaining 130mm of range on the new integrated 24-200mm equivalent lens. One of the coolest features about this camera is the manual control ring that circles the lens. You can assign different features to each click-less stop on the dial ranging from zoom or aperture functions. Whatever works best for you.
