Sony Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Select, GigaVault, DVD and Mini DV Camcorders

Sony has announced many new products at the CES 2003 show, for a full list see their CES 2003 Virtual Press Kit

Of most interest to us is their new Memory Stick Pro memory cards with capacities up to 1GB. Good news for Cyber-shot DSC-F717 owners - your camera can use the new MS Pro cards!  And Memory Stick media with Memory Select Function (available in spring of 2003) that provides higher capacities for users of existing Memory Stick products.

The new CLIE™ PEG-NZ90 handheld organizer with two-megapixel digicam with builtin flash and auto focus, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, flip-and-twist 320x480 color LCD, MP3 player, AV remote, voice recorder. Capture still images or movies to Memory Stick and edit them with the included CLIE Photo Editor. Powered by a new SmartLITHIUM rechargeable battery.

Sony's new 40GB GigaVault Portable Storage unit for holding large amounts of DVD-quality video, digital images and digital music - in a device that can easily fit into a shirt pocket or handbag. It features both USB 2.0 and iLink (FireWire) connectivity to cover the Windows and Mac based PCs out there.

Sony has also announced no less than seven new Mini DV Camcorders priced from to . The top of the line DCR-TRV80 has a two megapixel imager, Bluetooth Internet connectivity and peer-to-peer data transfer.

And Sony has also announced three new DVD Handycam Camcorders that produce DVD recordings that play back in most current home and PC DVD players. Starting at under , you can now record your movies directly to 3-inch DVD discs.
