Some Older Canon Lenses Not Working Properly With Newer dSLR Bodies

Canon UK has issued a notice that certain combinations of lenses and cameras aren't working properly.

When using autofocus with these lenses, they're not operating as cross-type sensors like they should be. Instead they function as line sensors and react to horizontal or vertical detail, but not both. This occurs with Canon EOS 7D, 40D, 50D and 60D cameras.

On the plus side, the affected lenses are older, and were all released between 1990 and 1995, so there's not too much of a chance that you'll run into them.
