Sigma Reveals 28mm T1.5 FF High-Speed Prime Cine Lens

Sigma has detailed the newest addition to its cine prime lens lineup, the Sigma 28mm T1.5 FF. The lens is set to start shipping on March 18 for PL, EF, and E-mounts at an MSRP of $3,499. In addition, a fully luminous (FL) version will also be available for $4,499.

The Sigma 28mm T1.5 FF is a high-speed prime lens designed to support full-frame camera sensors and ultra-high-resolution 6K-8K video. The lens features a 100% metal body, along with a dust-proof and splash-proof construction, and a 9-bladed iris for pleasing bokeh effects. Computer-based ray tracing has also been employed to help reduce flare and ghosting.

Likewise, the unit also offers a 180-degree focus rotation, a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring, and 0.8 module gear pitch. In addition, select markings on the standard version use luminous paint for better visibility in dark environments. Meanwhile, all the markings are luminescent on the Fully Luminous version.
