SDA to Showcase Panasonic's 1GB SD Card Launch

The SD Association announced Panasonic's new 1GB media card with a data transfer rate of 20MB per second -- supporting more than 500 SD-enabled products worldwide. Panasonic is part of the SD Association (SDA), which is an open industry standards organization established in January 2000 by Matsushita Electric (Panasonic), Secaucus, N.J., USA, SanDisk Corp., Sunnyvale, Calif., USA, and Toshiba America Inc., New York, N.Y., USA., and supported by a consortium of over 400 companies.

The new 1GB card is scheduled for consumer availability in fall 2003.
