Samyang Details AF 85mm F1.4 FE Prime Lens for Sony Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras

Samyang has revealed is latest Sony FE mount lens. The new AF 85mm F1.4 will be part of the company's "Spring Collection."

Thanks to its short telephoto focal length and wide maximum aperture of f/1.4, the lens is an ideal fit for users who want to capture shallow depth-of-field and pleasing background blur. Likewise, the device incorporates 9 diaphragm blades for smooth bokeh effects. In addition, the unit features an optical design with 11 elements in 8 groups (4 HR, ED 1), offering high image resolution along with reduced color fringing and chromatic aberrations.

Meanwhile, DLSM (Dual Linear Sonic Motor) tech is implemented as well to enable quiet and quick autofocus performance. Likewise, the lens uses Samyang's Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) to minimize unwanted reflections, flare, and ghosting effects. Finally, weather-sealing has been employed to provide anti-dust and water-protection.
