Samsung Nearly Doubles Profits in Third Quarter of 2012

At a time when other electronics companies are struggling and making dire predictions of the years to come, Samsung is thriving. The company has done well in mobile phones and tablets of late, but that's not the only category where Samsung is cleaning up.

The IT and Mobile Communications division, which includes digital imaging, is up in profits by 132 percent while revenue is up 82 percent. Samsung increased sales of televisions, cameras, Blu-ray players and essentially everything else they make at a time when the market overall is down.

Samsung is, of course, expecting things to improve even further next quarter when holiday shopping begins.
