Samsung Launches Credit Card-Sized Digimax i5
Samsung Camera, a division of Samsung Opto-Electronics America Inc., Secaucus, N.J., introduces the Digimax i5, a new 5-megapixel, 3x optical zoom digital camera with internal zoom technology, priced at . The i5 integrates its 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 39mm - 117mm in 35mm format) capability with SHD lens technology. When combined with its 5x digital zoom, users will have a total zoom of 15x. Sized at 3.5-by-2.4-by-0.68 inches, the Digimax i5 comes in four colors; silver, black, red and grey, and has a 2.5-inch high-resolution color LCD with improved contrast and color reproduction. The camera can be charged in four different ways, and comes with a cradle.The Digimax i5 supports MPEG-4 video technology. When used with a 256MB SD card, the user can shoot 2 hours and 10 minutes of VGA video with sound, at up to 30 frames per second. Shooters can utilize the camera's 3x optical zoom while recording. The Digimax i5 also has a movie stabilizer function, and a continuous video recording function that allows the user to pause and resume video recording at any time as well as a built-in movie editing function.
