Samsung Introduces Digimax V800 8-megapixel Camera

Samsung Camera, a division of Samsung Opto-Electronics America Inc., Secaucus, N.J., USA, introduces the Digimax V800, with an 8-megapixel high-resolution CCD. The V800 features a high-quality 3x f/2.8 - 5.1 Schneider Kreuznach lens and a large 2.5-inch color LCD and features faster booting and shot-to-shot speed for instant photography.

The V800 supports MPEG-4 video compression, can capture movie clips in VGA (640-by-480) at 30fps, and also has a movie clip stabilizer for video recording. The camera also features movie clip editing functions, previously only possible with a PC, as well as successive video recording letting shooters pause and resume video recording and merge multiple video files into one single file. The V800 features special effect functions, three kinds of manual exposure adjustment, 11 scene modes, and Continuous Shooting, Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) and Auto Focus Bracketing (AFB) functions.

The V800 comes with Digimax Master 1.0 software that integrates the viewer, still image/movie editing and editing functions into a single application. It offers PictBridge technology, allowing users to connect the camera directly to a printer with the supplied USB cable and output images from the camera's 32MB internal memory or SD card. The shooter can use the "Quick Print" button to print a desired photo immediately. The V800 also provides voice recording up to 1 hour, voice memo for adding a short voice message to a picture and "One-Touch Playback" for instant playback of an image.
