In addition to announcing the new 6D Mark II, Canon updated its most affordable entry-level DSLR camera for 2017.

Dubbed the EOS Rebel SL2, it's better than the previous generation SL1 in several key ways. First the APS-C CMOS image sensor has been bumped up to 24.2 MP (vs 18MP), there's a faster images processor (DIGIC 7 vs DIGIC 5), the ISO range has been expanded up to 25,600 (vs 12,800), Continuous Shooting has jumped up to 5ps (vs 4fps), you can shoot in Full HD 1080/60p (vs 30p) with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system (vs Hybrid CMOS AF II), Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / NFC are now included, and the 3.0" touch screen LCD is now a Vari-Angle iteration.
