Raytrix Introduces the First Available Plenoptic Camera
The idea behind the plenoptic cameras
is absolutely fascinating. Instead of a single lens, the camera uses
an array of very small lenses that capture huge amounts of
information from a scene. This allows you to focus the shot after
you take it, rather than before.A few companies have shown off their prototype Plenoptic cameras, but Raytrix is the first to actually make one available for use outside of the company.
At an upcoming conference, the company will be presenting a camera to Art Center College of Design and talking with photography researchers, creative talent and others about their new creation.
You can find out more about Raytrix and its plenoptic cameras directly from the company's website Ratrix.de.
