Process RAW Files For Free with RawTherapee
Photography isn't a cheap hobby, especially where dedicated software is concerned. RAW converters can get particularly pricy, but thankfully for the frugal photographer, there's a free alternative. As the folks at PetaPixel point out,
RawTherapee is a slick free program that will work out nicely for
those that prefer GIMP over Photoshop.
With RawTherapee you'll be able to
adjust the white balance of photos, control exposure and recover
highlights, boost and shift colors and denoise your photos with a few
different handy tools.
You can visit the RawTherapee site for more information and links to download the source code, which you'll need to compile yourself. Of course, if the idea of compiling code is foreign to you, you can download recent releases compiled by users of the site here.
