Pre-Converted Infrared Cameras Available From Opticsgeek
Infrared photography can create some
incredibly cool effects, like the classic Elliot Landy photo of Bob
Dylan against the backdrop of what looks like a red forest. It's a
great way to get a unique look to your photographs, but most cameras
aren't equipped to handle it right out of the box.If you've got the time and the know-how, you can alter your existing camera to take infrared pictures, but it's not exactly a newbie-friendly task. If you don't have a lot of experience working inside of a camera though, you may be better off buying a camera that's already been converted.
Opticsgeek is now offering both pre-converted cameras and conversion kits for those that want to give IR photography a try. You can pick up a converted Canon PowerShot A480 for $199 or a SX200 for $349. If you'd prefer to give conversion a shot, the kit for the A480 costs $49.
