Polaroid ColorShot Now Available In Parallel Port and DirectConnect Adapter

A month or so ago we reported on Polaroid's ColorShot Digital Photo Printer that uses instant film to print real photos from your digital camera images. At the time of our first report the ColorShot printer was only available in a USB port version and now Polaroid has introduced the PC parallel port model.

The ColorShot prints in as little as 15 seconds (emerges from the printer and then develops). Multiple copies can be printed as fast as 4 images per minute. With a cigarette lighter AC adapter you can print images right in your car with a notebook computer. Superb quality - no dots, ColorShot uses the combination of a proprietary print mechanism with Polaroid's advanced instant film for true, continuous-tone, fade-resistant photographic prints.

DirectConnect Adapter

Polaroid DirectConnect Polaroid recently introduced their new DirectConnect adapter to allow either of the ColorShot printers to hookup directly to your digital camera for operation without the use of a computer. Currently it works with digicams from leading manufacturers such as Olympus, AGFA, Epson, Casio and it can be upgraded via the web to support new cameras from other manufacturers such as Kodak, Fuji, Ricoh (and hopefully Nikon?) as they are released. The adapter also has other modes for printing including a "print all" mode and "print index" mode (several small pictures on one sheet of film). Additionally, the adapter can be configured to automatically add text or a logo to each picture you print.
