PMDA and Members Raise Nearly $33 Million for Japan

PMDA.gifThe PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association has come together to help contribute to relief efforts in Japan. Between all the members, they've come up with a whopping $32.7 million to help out the victims of the natural disaster that wrecked havoc on the country.

"Our member organizations each have friends, families, and colleagues in Japan, so this devastation has greatly impacted all of our lives," says PDMA president Joellyn Gray. She says that while the amount that companies are giving is impressive, it's the employee contributions that really surprise her.

" For example," she says, "Employees at Fujifilm have already donated over $90,000 in personal funds." It's a huge outpouring of support from the people behind the businesses.

The PMDA isn't just giving money either. Member companies have offered up equipment and manpower to help out too.
