Pictures of the Year Exhibit in Newseum Sponsored by Nikon

The Newseum - as if you couldn't have guessed by the name - is an interactive museum that showcases news and journalism. It's a 250,000 square foot space in Washington D.C. that will be launching a new exhibit that pays tribute to the year's best photographs.

"Pictures are an important part of the Newseum experience," says Charles Overby, CEO of the Newseum. "The Pictures of the Year exhibit will be an exciting addition to the Newseum."

It all kicks off on April 30th with an event called "Photo Day." Professional photographers on display in the "Pictures of the Year" exhibit will be on site to tell the story behind the photographs and even offer advice to visitors.

The "Pictures of the Year" exhibit will host 70 of the year's best from the Pictures of the Year International photojournalism competition and run until October 31st.
