Photo Backup Creates Archives for Pro Photographers
OnTheGoSoft has released Photo Backup 2.4.0 for Windows, made especially for professional photographers, storing photo archives in commercial strength databases. Having back-up for your digital photos is only helpful if you can find your way around it. Having to go through a collection of DVDs, filled with digital photos, is not what you had in mind when you made your back up, is it?Photo Backup takes another major step helping you protect your archive of photos. It lets you store the archive information in a commercial strength MySQL database. It knows which files have already been backed-up and which are new or modified and only burns these. Every time Photo Backup burns files to a DVD, it automatically updates the database - preforming real incremental backup. The database can be accessed from different computers operating in the same office, providing centralized management for all your work. An HTML index also lets you browse the archive without any software installed - from any computer.
This means that even if your computer crashes and your hard drive is damaged, your photo archive is completely safe. You'll be able to quickly search the archive using thumbnails organized by folder, date, disc or tagged by Photo Backup. Then, just select the photos you need and Photo Backup will retrieve them for you. If you already have a collection of DVDs with existing backup, Photo Backup can easily blend in. It can go through your DVDs in a few minutes, index them and record what's already burned. Then, Photo Backup picks it up from that point and continues to burn only new files.
Photo Backup runs under Windows 98/Me/2000/XP and costs .95(US). You can download a fully featured 14-day evaluation version from www.onthegosoft.com
