Pentax is Dropping Point-and-Shoots in Favor of DSLR and Mirrorless

Pentax-dropping-PnS.jpgOne of the prevailing themes of the last few years is the dwindling market of the point-and-shoot camera, with the market share turning over to smart phones. Pentax is seeing that trend too, and is pulling out of the compact camera market completely.

That's not to say that parent company Ricoh will be making this change quite yet though. Ricoh will handle all compact cameras moving forward, while Pentax will focus on DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
