Pentax Announces New Q-mount ILC; the Q7Pentax has added an all new Q-mount ILC, the Q7. Like the K50, this little gem offers up to 120 different color combinations, allowing users to match the Q7 to their own unique style. While wild color combinations are cool, what about its core features?
Well, the Q7 can deliver there as well. Pentax's Q-mount cameras are known for their petite size, however one draw back is that previous models (like the Q10) used small image sensors, which hold back image quality capabilities. The Q7 has been upgraded with a large 1/1.7-inch BSI CMOS image sensor, which should give it a nice boost in the image quality department. This sensor offers the same resolution as the Q10, 12.4-megapixels, however with increased surface area thanks to the large sensor design.
At a scant 7 ounces, the Q7 will surely be easy to keep with you at all times. Thanks to the versatility of the Q-mount lens system, you can pick from 19 diffident lens options, so the Q7 won't only match your own personal style, but your shooting style as well.
The Q7 will sell for $500 USD with the include 02 zoom lens (3x). More details can be found in our Q7 Preview.
