Pentax Unveils Many New Models For 2008

The new K20D is Pentax's flagship dSLR model, and the highest resolution camera in the advanced photo enthusiast category with a 14.6- megapixel CMOS image sensor (as of 1/2008). For those who are just entering the dSLR world, Pentax has released their K200D. With specs like a 10.2-megapixel CCD image sensor, 2.7-inch LCD, and 11-area Wide-frame AF system, the K200D is sure to be a competitive model in the "entry-level" dSLR category this year.

Both cameras feature Dust-proof/Water-resistant construction, which offers a great deal of versatility with endless shooting environment possibilities. Along with these models, they also introduced 5 new Pentax smc digital lenses.

Other announcements include several new compact digicams (the Optio M50, S12, and E50) as well as the expected ship date for the Optio A40.
