To start 2017, Panasonic has released a new standard zoom lens for their Micro Four Thirds camera line. The LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT 12-60mm / F2.8-4.0 ASPH. / POWER O.I.S. (H-ES12060) is a 5x optical zoom lens with a 35mm equivalent of 24-120mm. The large aperture and Power O.I.S. make it ideal for low-light shooting situations. The 5x optical zoom range is perfect for handling a variety shooting situations and will make an awesome lens to keep on the camera for everyday use as well as travel. Two rings on the body, along with two switches, make switching between AF and MF a breeze. This is an overall excellent option for anyone not wanting to change lenses all the time.

Made up of 14 elements in 12 groups, the lens also features two ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses and Panasonic's Nano Surface Coating, which work together to increase image quality by reducing image flaws. The Power O.I.S. system will also work along with the Sensor Shift image stabilization systems found in many of the Panasonic ILC's. As expected from Panasonic, the lens has also been designed to excel at video capture, sporting a linear motor that can keep up with a camera's max of 240 fps for high speed video capture. Smooth aperture adjustments and very fast AF keep your subjects in focus and your light levels in check as the lens moves and zooms.
