Panasonic Announces Five New Lumix Digital Cameras

Panasonic has just announced five new Lumix cameras in preparation for CES 2015. They've made additions to three of their popular camera lines (TS, ZS, and SZ), including two new Lifeproof models.

Panasonic_TS6_camo_front_1200.jpgThe Lumix TS6 (pictured above in camo) and Lumix TS30 offer rugged features that any outdoorsman or woman would appreciate. These include waterproof, freezeproof, shockproof, and dustproof specifications. They also boast 16-megapixels of resolution, and various exposure modes for a variety of shooting situations; including an Underwater mode and Intelligent Auto. See our TS6 and TS30 previews for more details.

Panasonic_ZS50_black_front_1200.jpgNext up we have two "all-round travel" cameras, with the new Lumix ZS50 (pictured above) and Lumix ZS45. These compact cameras deliver some serious optics, with 30x and 20x zooms, respectively. To help you keep these small super-zooms steady, Panasonic has included their Power O.I.S. system into the ZS45, and a new Hybrid O.I.S. system into the ZS50. Both models offer 3-inch LCD screens (the ZS45 offers a tilting screen), and record full 1080p HD video. The ZS50 also includes a high resolution (1,166k-dot) eye-level LVF (Live ViewFinder). See our Lumix ZS50 and Lumix ZS45 previews to learn more.

Finally, we have an affordable pocket-zoom camera, the Lumix SZ10. Although compact and easy on the wallet, the SZ10 still packs a 12x optical zoom lens into its petite frame, along with a 2.7-inch LCD screen, and built-in Wi-Fi. Video recording is limited to 720p, likely due to the use of a CCD type image sensor versus a CMOS type. Check out our Lumix SZ10 preview to get the full scoop.
