Panasonic Reveals Updated LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 II ASPH. Lens

Panasonic has announced plans to release a renewed version of its LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 II ASPH. Lens. The new H-XA025 model will offer a rugged design for enhanced mobility, along with high-speed AF support.

Designed for use with Micro Four Thirds system cameras, the LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 II ASPH. features a lightweight form factor, a 50mm (35mm camera equivalent) focal length, smooth defocus, and pleasing bokeh effect. The unit's optical construction consists of nine elements in seven groups, including two aspherical lenses and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive) index lens. In addition, the device incorporates Panasonic's Nano Surface Coating to reduce ghosts and flare.

Meanwhile, the H-XA025 also includes an inner focus drive system and stepping motor, offering smooth, silent AF performance. Likewise, the lens is compatible with a supported camera's high-speed, high-precision contrast AF system and max. 240 fps sensor drive. Finally, the renewed model offers a rugged-design with a splash- and dust-resistant construction.

The renewed LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 II ASPH. Lens (H-XA025) is set to start shipping in October for a suggested retail price of $699.99.
