OnePlus launches their "Smash the Past" contest: win one of the first 100 OnePlus One smart phones

OnePlus-One-black.jpgLast week, OnePlus announced their "2014 Flagship Killer", which happens to be a very impressive Android smart phone. The One is marketed with the slogan, "Never Settle", and the company boasts that the OnePlus One will not only blow away the competition in terms of features, but price as well. The phone offers some very appealing specs, including a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 5.5" full HD touch screen display, 3GB of LP-DDR3 RAM, a Qualcomm Adreno 330 GPU, 4K video recording, and the most exciting feature for us, a Sony Exmor (IMX214) 13-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash unit. All this is stuffed in a sleek magnesium body, which runs on  CyanogenMod 11S, a version of Android's KitKat (4.4.2) OS.

Their "Smash the Past" contest is allowing 100 lucky winners to be amongst the first to receive this exciting new handset. How do you enter you ask? Well, you have to take a video of you smashing your current smartphone, and then submit it to oneplus.net/smash. They will then choose 100 of the "smashers", who will win the chance to buy a 16GB version of the OnePlus One smart phone for just $1. The rest of us will be able to purchase handsets at a later date, with the 16GB version running $299; while the 64GB will set you back only $349.

For more information, visit the OnePlus website, or check out our OnePlus One Preview. If you're brave enough to smash your current phone in hopes of possibly winning, click here to submit your video. Hurry, entries must be in by May 2nd, 2014.
