Olympus Updates E-5 and PEN Camera Firmware

Olympus E5.jpgOlympus has announced new firmware for its E-5, E-P3, E-PL3, E-PM1 and E-PL2 cameras today, bringing them all up to firmware version 1.3.

The update that goes across all the cameras is to memory use. All of these cameras will now be more stable when using SDXC cards of sizes over 48GB, which should come as a welcome relief to anyone that had been experiencing problems.

The E-PL2, E-P3 and E-5 receive an additional update that will allow for improved external flash operation when functioning in RC mode.

To update, simply connect your camera through USB to an internet connected computer and choose "update" from your camera menu or download the software updater and follow the instructions provided. Either way you'll be able to see exactly what changes are happening before they're applied to your camera.
