Olympus Sells New Compact Tele-zoom Lens in Japan
Olympus Corp., Tokyo, Japan, put on the local market on Nov. 23 a super-compact tele-photo zoom lens the Zuiko Digital ED40-150mm f4.0-5.6, the smallest in the category, reports JPEA International PEN News Weekly. Length of the lens is 72mm and the diameter is 65.5mm, which is roughly comparable to the size of a business card (90-by-60mm).The Four-Thirds System 12-in-9 lens is equivalent to 80-300mm in 35mm format adopts internal focusing so that the length of the barrel remains unchanged during focusing. The lens focuses down to a minimum distance or 0.9m in the entire zooming range. The lens takes a 58mm threaded filter and weighs 220g. The suggested list price is ¥37,400 (US).
