Olympus Evolt E-330 Wins PC World Award

CENTER VALLEY, Pa, January 8, 2007 – Olympus is honored by PC World with a “20 Most Innovative Products Award” for the Olympus EVOLT E-330 digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera. The EVOLT E-330 is the world’s first interchangeable lens digital SLR to feature a true “Live View” image on the LCD screen, in addition to the optical viewfinder. PC World will present the award to Olympus today at the ShowStoppers Media Reception at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas during 2007 International CES.

Users of the EVOLT E-330 quickly realize that when composing an image on the LCD, they can do more with this camera than they could with comparable digital SLRs without Live View. The camera also boasts an "articulated" LCD screen, which extends out from the camera body and tilts up and down. The articulated screen, coupled with Live View, enables users to easily capture images from many hard-to-get angles, such as over a crowd of people or eye level with toddlers as they take their first steps. Whether shooting from a low angle for dramatic composition or in close for detailed macro photos, with the exclusive Olympus Live View LCD photographers can follow action easily and capture just the right moment with greater creative control.

The 2007 PC World 20 Most Innovative Products Awards recognize both benchmark and breakthrough products that set the standard for innovation with unique qualities that distinguish them from the pack. PC World's editors compared hundreds of products before narrowing the field to 20 winners.

"These are among the most inventive and trend-setting products available, breaking the traditional boundaries while pushing the limits of technology," stated Harry McCracken, vice president and editor-in-chief of PC World. "These winners help define industry standards and raise the bar for creativity in the future. Congratulations to the Olympus EVOLT E-330."
