Olympus Details M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20

Olympus has announced a new Teleconverter model, the M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20. The device will be compatible with the company's M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO and M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO lenses, as well as the upcoming M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO lens when it is released.

The MC-20 teleconverter allows users to double the focal length of the master lens it is paired with, enabling photographers to take close-up images of subjects that are difficult to get close to, like certain animals. When used in conjunction with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO, the teleconverter supports handheld super telephoto capture at 1200mm equivalent (35mm equivalent).

In addition, the device features a dustproof, splashproof, and freezeproof (-10°C) design ensuring usability in a variety of environments and weather conditions. Meanwhile, the unit's optical construction utilizes 9-elements in 4-groups with an HR lens to help minimize aberrations. Likewise, ZERO coating has been employed to reduce ghosts and flares. Finally, the package also includes a body cap BC-3, lens cap LR-2, and lens case LSC-0603.
