"Ocean in Focus" Conservation Photography Contest is Now Open for Entry

The current disaster in the Gulf of Mexico really puts a spotlight on marine conservation this year, which makes the annual "Ocean in Focus" contest more important than ever, according to SeaWeb president Dawn M. Martin.
"We are at a tipping point and we need to use every tool in our toolbox
to help advance marine conservation," says Martin. "Images are incredibly
powerful and important ways to tell the story of what's happening in the ocean.
Through this annual photo contest, we
encourage photographers worldwide to share the images and stories of their
experiences."
No matter what your skill level you can enter the contest at the Marine Photobank. The grand prize is a cool $500, while four
prize packages will be given to runners up, including one for the best
photograph highlighting the need for biodiversity.
