Nikon Unveils Two New Nikkor Lenses and an External Speedlight
Along with their new
D7000 dSLR announcement, Nikon has released two updated pro-level Nikkor lenses as well as a versatile new speedlight.

First we have an updated AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G, which delivers a versatile 35mm field of view on thier FX-format models or 52.5mm on DX-format cameras (like
the D7000). With a super fast f/1.4 aperture, this unit is perfect for low-light, hand-held photography. It also offers Nikkor's RF (Rear Focus) system, helping the lens provide fast AF without having to rotate the front barrel. This unit joins Nikon's current f/1.4G lineup in mid-November with a suggested retain price of $1799.95 US.

Next is the AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2G ED VR II. This is an ultra fast, super telephoto lens that offers Nikons VR II technology, a constant f/2 maximum aperture, ED and Super ED glass elements (Extra-low Dispersion), a tripod/monopod mount, Tripod Detection mode, and an internal focusing (IF) system. This one will set you back a pretty penny, with a MSRP of $5999.95 US. Availability is set on October, 2010.

Lastly, Nikon announced a new external speedlight, the SB-700. Positioned between their popular SB-600 and SB-900 models, this new unit promises a powerful range in a compact and ease to use package. This unit boasts coverage for lenses ranging from 24-120m (FX-format), three light distribution pattern options, wireless TTL operation, Thermal Cut-Out detection and quick recycling times (2.5 seconds with NiMH or 3.0 seconds with alkaline cells). The SB-700 will start showing up at retailers in mid-November with a price tag of $329.95 US.
