Nikon Storytellers Scholarship Now Open for Submissions

Nikon has announced the launch of its second Nikon Storytellers Scholarship program. Applications are now open for eligible students in the US and Canada, offering entrants the chance to earn a $10,000 academic scholarship designed to aid in their visual storytelling and content creation pursuits.

"We are so excited to be able to continue to offer scholarship support to talented students across the US and Canada who are exploring their creative passions," said Jay Vannatter, Executive Vice President, Nikon Inc. "In launching this program for a second year, Nikon is reaffirming its dedication to supporting and encouraging the next generation of creators in their pursuits to become the confident, fearless voices of tomorrow."

This will be the second year for the program following its creation in December 2017. The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who have finished their freshman year of college (or academic equivalent) and are on track for degrees in visual arts, fine arts, journalism, film, photography or multimedia/content creation. For the initial stage of the application, students must submit academic and professional references. Students who are chosen to advance to the semi-finalist round will then be asked to enter an original piece of creative work in the form of a photo portfolio or video submission.

The entries will then be judged by a panel of industry professionals who will select ten winners to receive the scholarship. The scholarships can be used for the 2019-2020 academic year and may be applied toward tuition, fees, books, supplies, and required course equipment.
