Nikon Launching Two New Gold Ring Nikkor Lenses for FX Format Cameras

Nikon Gold Ring lenses are premium lenses with improved optics and bokeh capabilities, dust & water resistance, and various lens coating technologies that reduce flare, ghosting, and chromatic aberrations. If you need quality glass for your Nikon DSLR, look no further than Gold Ring Nikkor lenses.

Joining this premiere club here in 2017, we have two new wide-angle lenses in the form of an 8-15mm F3.5-4.5 Fisheye as well as a 28mm F1.4 prime.

AF-S Fisheye NIKKOR 8-15mm F3.5-4.5E ED

Perfect for filmmakers and photographers who need to capture dramatic wide-angles, the new 8-15mm F3.5-4.5 is a circular fisheye, which means you'll see a circular 180-degree vertical / horizontal angle of view on full frame cameras at 8mm. In other words, there will be a black circle surrounding your image. Zoom in towards 15mm and you retain a dramatic 180-degree diagonal angle of view in an image that fills your entire frame. You can use this FX format lens with DX format camera systems, as well, at an approximate 12-22mm equivalent.

With a max aperture range of F3.5-4.5, this compact fisheye was constructed with lightweight magnesium alloy and features internal focusing (the lens barrel doesn't extend or retract) and an electromagnetic diaphragm to help maintain and transition exposure settings for high speed still and video recording. The various lens elements and coatings have been designed to reduce chromatic aberration, ghosting, and flare as well as resist dirt, fingerprints, and smudges.

  • 180-degree diagonal angle of view @ 15mm (image fills the entire frame)
