Nikon Launches a 3D Picture Frame and Conversion Service

3D Photo Frame.jpgImagine if you will, a 3D photo frame that doesn't require the use of special glasses for the effect. It's real, and it's here now in the NF-300i from Nikon.

The NF-300i can be leased, but not purchased. Along with your lease, you'll have access to Picturetown 3D, a service that converts your 2D images into 3D images for viewing on the frame.

The world is constantly getting smaller thanks to the internet, and regional product launches are becoming a thing of the past. Sadly, that doesn't mean they don't happen. The new glasses-free 3D picture frame from Nikon is Japan only.

Japanese customers will be paying a fairly reasonable $24 a month for the privilege, or $240 a year if they pay up front. There's no word of the possibility of buying one of these frames, or on the frames making their way to the US.
