Nikon Enters the Action Camera Market with Launch of the 360-Degree KeyMission 360

360_web1.jpegNikon has launched multiple products this week, including the new D5 and D500 DSLR models we published articles about earlier this week. Nikon also announced that it's launching an Action Camera with the introduction of the new KeyMission 360.

This camera has an interesting design with two lenses and image sensors on opposite sides of the camera, and it's designed to combine still images and video from both sensors so that you end up with a 360 degree view.

The KeyMission 360 is Nikon's first entry into the Action Camera market, and it can capture 4K UHD video and features electronic Vibration Reduction (VR) to reduce  the effects of camera shake, enabled in applications during playback. This new Action Camera is designed to be rugged for use in harsher environments, and is waterproof (to approximately 100 ft./30m and shock resistant.

Nikon says that the KeyMission 360 and accessories to go with it will become available in Spring 2016, and they will be showing reference cameras at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week in Las Vegas, Nevada.
