Nikon D3100 Honored by CEA and Oprah
Several cameras have already been
announced as honorees of the Consumer Electronics Association's
Innovations awards, but the Nikon D3100 gets double the glory.The D3100 is a great entry to dSLR photography and earned accolades from the CEA for its engineering qualities, aesthetics, and unique features like a simple graphical user interface. It's a pretty big honor for the company. Think of the CEA Innovations Awards as the Oscars of the electronics industry.
But the D3100 didn't just win the prestigious award that's judged by engineers and industry experts. It also got named as one of Oprah's "Favorite Things" on her special this past Friday. If the CEA Awards are like the Oscars, this like a People's Choice or MTV Movie award. It may not mean much from a technical standpoint, but if Oprah's influence is worth what it seems to be, the Nikon D3100 is bound to be a popular camera this holiday season.
