Nikon Coolpix S4100 and S6100 Available in US Despite Withdrawal from Japan

In the wake of the disaster that occurred in Japan just a few months back, Nikon announced that it would be pulling both the CoolPix S4100 and CoolPix S6100 from the market. That's a significant statement, especially considering how recently the cameras were released.

As it turns out, the announcement from Nikon was only intended for their Japanese customers. The S4100 and S6100 aren't being pulled in all markets, but due to the limited supplies the company is dealing with, they're no longer going to be shipping in Japan.

"As recently reported by Nikon Corporation, sales of these products are being discontinued in some markets," reads a statement from Nikon USA. "Availability of these products in the Americas will not be impacted."
