Nikon Announces New dSLR: the D5100

Nikon has just unveiled an all new dSLR to add to their growing ranks,
the D5100. This model replaces the popular
D5000 from 2009, with various upgrades. Some of its impressive specifications include a 16-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor, Nikon's EXPEED 2 processing unit, a 3.0-inch Vari-angle LCD screen, full 1080p HD video recording (MPEG-4 format), new Special Effects modes, continuous shooting up to 4fps, sensitivity settings from ISO 100 up to 25,600 with expansion enabled, and a plethora of fully automatic and manual exposure controls.
The D5100 will start shipping sometime this month, with a MSRP of $799.95 US for the body only, or $899.95 US with the kit AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens.
