Minor Nikon Coolpix 995 Problem Identified

There is a small problem with the Nikon Coolpix 995 cameras sold in Canada, Japan and parts of Europe. Apparently there is a "glitch" in the v1.1 firmware that shows itself when the lens is rotated around backwards. I have been assured that all Coolpix 995 cameras for sale in the U.S. will have already been through Nikon USA's service department and will be upgraded with the newer v1.6 firmware. Nikon USA also assures me that shipments of the 995 will not be delayed and the start of distribution is the end of June as scheduled. Nikon Canada has posted this notice about the problem.
