Nikon Details New NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct Lens & MB-N10 Battery Pack

Nikon has revealed its latest Z-Mount lens, the NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct Lens. In addition, the company also announced a new MB-N10 Battery Power Pack for Z series cameras.

"This is why the Z mount was created. The Noct is a testament to Nikon's commitment to optical innovation driven by more than a century of expertise," said Jay Vannatter, Executive Vice President, Nikon Inc. "We promised a new dimension of optical performance for the Nikon Z series and NIKKOR Z lens lineup, and by announcing our fastest NIKKOR lens ever made, the NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct, we are making this claim a reality."

NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens

Serving as the fastest NIKKOR lens model so far, the new NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct is a manual focus prime lens geared toward a variety of applications, including portraits, landscapes, and astrophotography. With an impressive max aperture of f/0.95, the unit is designed to offer extensive depth of field and advanced low light performance. The device's optical construction consists of 17 elements in 10 groups, including a large-diameter ground aspherical lens element to provide a high refractive index. In addition, the lens incorporates an anti-reflective ARNEO Coat a Nano Crystal Coat to reduce ghosting and flare effects. Finally, a fluorine coat has been employed as well to repel dust, dirt, and moisture.

The NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct Lens is set to start shipping on October 31 for a suggested retail price of $7,999.95. The package will include a special premium custom padded case (Trunk Case CT-101) and an HN-38 Hood.

MB-N10 battery power pack

Meanwhile, beyond the new NIKKOR lens, Nikon has also revealed a new MB-N10 Battery Power Pack for its Z 6 and Z 7 cameras. The optional accessory is designed to expand battery life while also adding an extra hand hold. The device can house two EN-EL15b batteries (sold separately) and also supports USB charging.

The MB-N10 Battery Power Pack is set to launch in November for a suggester retail price of of $199.95.
