Geared toward headshots, fashion, and wedding/event photography, the NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S is a fast prime lens with a medium telephoto focal length and support for edge-to-edge sharpness. The unit's optical construction features 12 elements in 8 groups, including two Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) elements to help minimize aberration. Likewise, the device also incorporates Nikon's patented Nano Crystal Coating to reduce ghosting and flare. In addition, the lens uses a nine rounded blade diaphragm for smooth, pleasing bokeh.

And beyond still photos, the lens is also designed with video performance in mind, offering ultra-quiet focus motors, minimized focus breathing, a customizable control ring, and support for the Nikon Z 6 and Z 7's in-body 5-axis VR. Finally, the device features Nikon's professional-grade dust and drip resistance for added protection.
