New Nikon 1 Firmware Allows F-Mount Lens Use

Nikon has released a new firmware update for the Nikon 1 J1 and Nikon 1 V1 that will certainly be a welcomed addition for fans of the new mirrorless system.

Version 1.10 of the firmware for the J1 and V1 makes the cameras compatible with F-mount lenses. You'll still need the adapter to make the lenses connect on the mechanical side, and we're looking at an early 2012 release for that, but updating your camera now means that you'll be ready once the adapter gets released.

In addition to the F-mount functionality, pixel mapping has been added to the setup menu.
