New 3M Retainer Clip Helps Hold Memory Cards In Place

3M's Electronic Solutions division has announced a new retainer clip designed for CompactFlash Type I and II memory card mounts, which helps prevent cards from backing out. When a card is not seated properly, it can cause data loss, system malfunctions, read/write errors, etc.

Designed for use in mobile and high vibration applications, this new clip utilizes active mechanical retention to help secure the card to the header, which adds an additional layer of protection when compared to the standard "passive friction" method that is typically used.
