New Camera Reviews Just Posted

We've only had it for a short while but so far I am very impressed with Pentax's new *ist DS SLR, the latest entry into the under- category of 6-megapixel digital SLRs. For around you get the camera and a nice 18-55mm zoom lens. It uses SD memory cards and runs on either four AA or two CR-V3 batteries. The *ist DS is currently the smallest and lightest interchangeable lens digital camera available and produces sharp and well-saturated images. I've posted the first set of sample images, the conclusion will follow in about a week with more sample photos. I see the *ist DS as a solid contender against Canon's Digital Rebel and Nikon's D70 and expect it to sell extremely well this holiday season.

Also posted are full reviews of the Pentax Optio SV, a compact yet full-featured 5-megapixel, 5x optical zoom camera that comes with a handy charging stand. And the Pentax Optio MX4, the 4-megapixel update to last year's Optio MX, a hybrid digital still and movie camera with a 10x optical zoom lens. Check them out.
