Mike Johnston Opens New T.O.P. blog
Friday, Dec. 2, 2005 --- Mike Johnston, who for years authored the popular "Sunday Morning Photographer" column, has inaugurated a new moderated blog about photography called "The Online Photographer." The URL is theonlinephotographer.blogspot.com.T.O.P. blog doesn't just cover Johnston's unique perspective on all things photographic - it also includes frequent comments and insights from a number of other photographers. Today, for instance, Connecticut photographer Carl Weese explains how an older exposure device that was over-engineered when it was invented becomes more useful than ever when used for JPEG capture. A master of many techniques, Weese divides his time between professional advertising photography and serious art photography, specializing in ultra- large-format platinum/palladium.
With extremely minimal publicity, the blog logged its first 1,000 hits in 2 days and 17 hours - not big-dog territory, but indicative of lively interest among the community of devoted photo enthusiasts. The contents will be refreshed on a daily basis. See for yourself!
