MetaCreations' Kai's Photo Soap 2 Named "Best of Show" at Macworld

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 1999--MetaCreations Corporation (Nasdaq:MCRE - news), the Creative Web company, announced today that Kai's Photo Soap 2 was awarded "Best of Show," selected by Macworld Magazine editors as one of the "hottest" products introduced at Macworld Expo '99 this week.

Kai's Photo Soap 2 from MetaCreations was one of ten products awarded the "Best of Show" distinction. Macworld Magazine chose Kai's Photo Soap 2 over the many products demonstrated at the show because of its intuitive interface and useful new features, including the ability to run Photoshop plug-ins.

As previously announced, a special edition Kai's Photo Soap has been selected for bundling with Apple Computer's iMac, Agfa digital cameras, Microtek scanners, Epson color printers and Kidboard graphics tablets, among others.

Soap 2 is currently available on a hybrid CD through national retail outlets, in catalogs, and direct from MetaCreations at a SRP of US .95. Until May 31, 1999, a mail-in upgrade rebate to Kai's Photo Soap and a competitive mail-in rebate is available until May 31, 1999.
